Malaysia Project: Healthy Eating and Good Character

Petaling Jaya, Malaysia – Forty packs of brown rice and other healthy food items were given away to deserving families under UPF-Malaysia’s Circle of Light humanitarian aid program, at the Community Hall of Kampung Batu 11, Balakong in Selangor on April 13, 2024.

Councilor Mr. Edwin Tang Wei Yong, representing the state assemblyman of Balakong, Hon. Wayne Ong, distributed the food packages to the families together with Ms. Tan Wan, treasurer of UPF-Malaysia, and Ms. Wan Yu Wang, co-founder of Ajar-ajar Malaysia, an NGO that provides tuition aid for underprivileged school children.

The event also included character education sessions themed “Spring to Life,” conducted by volunteers of Ajar-ajar Malaysia Sungai Long for the 70 participating children and parents. Besides strengthening family bonds and relationships, the program aimed to promote awareness of healthy eating habits through interactive activities.
