UPF Joins Thai Officials in Honoring Vietnam Veterans

Surasi Camp, Thailand – On July 21, 2025, UPF-Thailand participated in a ceremony dedicated to the memory of Thai warriors who sacrificed their lives on the battlefield in Vietnam. The event took place at the Monument to the Courage and Sacrifice of Thai Soldiers in the Vietnam War, located at Surasi Military Camp in Kanchanaburi Province. Representatives of more than 70 government agencies, veterans’ groups, and private sector organizations attended.
General Terdsak Marrome, president of the Vietnam Veterans Association and chairman of UPF-Thailand, served as both the chairman of the organizing committee for the event and the presiding Buddhist ceremony. This ceremony was an offering of good deeds to transfer merit to the spirits of the heroes who sacrificed their lives in the Vietnam War.
Mr. Kamol Thananoppawan, secretary general of UPF-Thailand, laid a wreath on behalf of UPF. The chairman of the ceremony then delivered a welcome address and a report on the event. Privy Councilor General Paiboon Khumchaya, representing His Majesty the King, received the report from the chairman and presided over the laying of a wreath on behalf of King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua, Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother, and the Queen.
