Puthukkudiyiruppu, Sri Lanka – Following the devastation caused by a cyclone in late November and early December 2025, UPF-Sri Lanka launched a relief initiative to support communities struggling to rebuild their lives. From January 26 to 31, 2026, food aid was distributed to 266 families across 14 villages in the Puthukkudiyiruppu area within the Mullaitivu District.

The distribution efforts were significantly bolstered by on-the-ground support of   coordinators from the office of Mr. Kader Masthan, member of Parliament for this region, who assisted in the logistics and execution of the relief operations. Through this collaborative effort, 14 heavily impacted villages were targeted and assisted.

This relief effort was made possible through generous financial contributions of donors from Singapore; 29 individuals and families contributed to the fund. Their solidarity demonstrated the project's theme that "humanity knows no borders."
