Beirut, Lebanon – Thanks to a kind donation from the International Relief Friendship Foundation (IRFF) Germany, UPF-Lebanon was able to provide humanitarian aid to families in Chiyah, a southern suburb of Beirut that has been heavily impacted by regional conflict. In collaboration with the mayor and the municipality, large boxes of food were distributed to 64 needy families.
The families gathered at the Chiyah Forum, a sports facility in the municipality, on April 22, 2025. Mr. Thomas Schellen, president of UPF-Lebanon, greeted them and explained that funding for this aid had come from IRFF Germany.
Mayor Edmond Gharios expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the sponsor and to UPF-Lebanon. He remained to observe the distribution of the donated food boxes to the families, explaining that most of them were really struggling to survive. Many of the families expressed their appreciation for the support as well.
