Lomé, Togo – At a major continental gathering in ECOWAS Hall in Lomé, on October 24, 2025, UPF-Africa launched the 100 Days of Harmony and Hope Campaign. The event took place in conjunction with the celebration of United Nations Day, reinforcing UPF’s continued partnership with the UN in advancing peace, unity, and shared human values throughout Africa.
Organized in a hybrid format, the launch brought together around 100 participants in person and more than 535 virtual attendees across various online platforms, representing several African nations.
The ceremony was moderated by Mr. Kijung Sonoumey, officer for evaluation and reporting at UPF-Africa. Proceedings began with an opening prayer by Pastor Kassou Cyril of the Celestial Church of Christ, inviting a spirit of reflection and unity.
Held under the theme, “UPF and the United Nations: Uniting Our Efforts for 100 Days of Harmony and Hope,” the program featured several impactful addresses from continental UPF leadership. Amb. Adama Doumbia, president of UPF-Africa, set the tone by outlining the campaign’s purpose: to mobilize Africa around peace, fraternity, and faith in a harmonious future.
Representing the continental leadership of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), Rev. Moruti Ledwaba, deputy continental director, conveyed a message on behalf of Rev. Jean-Pierre Kadima. He urged the audience to pray and unite behind the Mother of Peace, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, in her current challenges, so that justice and truth may prevail.
This was followed by a report from Mr. Kiwon Zinsou, reflecting on the success of the first 100-Day Campaign earlier in the year, reaffirming the value and impact of united action.
Dr. Paterne Zinsou, secretary general of UPF-Africa, subsequently presented the detailed strategic plan for implementation of this second campaign across the continent, defining responsibilities, engagement mechanisms, and the cooperative commitment expected of national chapters. The launch established a unified and enthusiastic direction, energizing UPF-Africa toward 100 days of intensified peace activities.
Three notable Togolese national figures were awarded the title of Ambassador for Peace, joining UPF’s esteemed global network: Hon. Ayao Dzréké, 4th vice president of the National Assembly; Mr. Kissao Tchourou, director of the Cabinet of the President of the National Assembly; and Mr. Yaowaï Nambou, former member of Parliament.
The gathering was vibrant, dignified, and filled with optimism and determination. Participants demonstrated strong commitment to the goals of harmony and peacebuilding, culminating in a powerful moment of collective enthusiasm with cheers of victory, symbolizing unity, spiritual energy, and a shared promise to ensure the successful execution of the campaign throughout the African continent.
