Provincial Leaders Prepare for Argentina’s Peace Road Finale

Buenos Aires, Argentina – Provincial authorities from Santa Fe province joined community representatives and peace ambassadors on November 11, 2025, at a program held by UPF-Argentina to introduce its 11th annual Peace Road activities. The event was held at the province’s official office, Santa Fe House, in Buenos Aires. This year’s Peace Road theme is “Peace Flourishes in the Argentinian Embrace.”

Mr. Hernán Rossi, secretary of the Santa Fe government’s federal delegation in Buenos Aires, gave a heartfelt speech expressing his enthusiasm at hosting this peace campaign in his province.

Mr. Miguel Werner, president of UPF-Argentina, explained the program for Peace Road 2025, in which activities will be held in all 23 provinces. The main venue will be El Trébol in Santa Fe, where the final event will take place on November 30. Also in Santa Fe, on November 28 there will be an event at the National Flag Memorial in Rosario City, the place where the Argentine flag was first raised in 1812. Here a declaration of “Solidarity and Peace” will be signed, a document created during Argentina’s bicentenary and signed by representatives of various institutions in 2016.

Ms. Natalia Sánchez, mayor of El Trébol, along with Ms. Viviana Marconi, the city’s education coordinator, also voiced their appreciation of the opportunity to host the Peace Road events. The name of the city, which is around 450 kilometers from Buenos Aires, means the Shamrock, and comes from its Irish immigrants. It is inhabited by 15,000 people, in an agricultural, livestock, and milk production area.

The famous singer Mr. León Gieco, one of the 2025 Peace Road godparents, has been invited to the main event on November 30, where participants from north to south will sing all together one of his most iconic songs, “Sólo le Pido a Dios.”

This song and “Todo Cambia” were performed at the end of the event in Santa Fe House by artist and Peace Ambassador Ms. Makenna Zambonini, performer and co-host, creator of “Nights of Music for Peace,” followed by guitarist Mr. Tobías Melgarejo.

Peace Road is a world peace campaign that features cycling events, marches and other activities in countries around the world since 2013, with the theme “Connecting the World Through Peace.” Argentina joined in 2015 and, since 2020, UPF-Argentina has initiated ecological, educational, athletic, artistic, interreligious or intercultural, family and tourist events in all provinces, Antarctica, and Buenos Aires City.

The Peace Road was declared of permanent interest by the National Senate and the National Chamber of Deputies in 2024, “For their noble purpose of bringing peoples and cultures together, transcending ethnicities, nationalities, and religions.” Peace Road was declared of permanent interest by provincial legislatures of Córdoba, Salta, Chaco, Jujuy, La Rioja, and Catamarca; by the Buenos Aires City legislature in 2019: “For the promotion and defense of human rights;” and by other municipalities and city councils from various Argentinian cities.
