Abuja, Nigeria – To commemorate International Women’s Day, UPF-Nigeria held a seminar on the dual themes of "Give to Gain" and "Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls" on March 28, 2026. The event was organized by UPF Peace Ambassador Ms. Joy G. Fan.
A keynote address by UPF Secretary General Dr. George Charles Ikpot focussed on the essential status and value of women within the family and broader society. He emphasized that justice for women is not merely a legal requirement but a functional necessity for social renewal.
Presentations delivered by Ms. Victoria Otibho Okonmah and Ms. Emem Simeon Uwa further translated these ideals into actionable steps, calling on participants to transition from passive supporters to active catalysts for women’s rights.
The event concluded with an emphasis on UPF’s designation of April as the Month of Service, encouraging participants to embody the spirit of altruism in their local communities. By combining theological perspectives with practical social advocacy, the program reinforced UPF’s role in shaping a more equitable and peaceful Nigeria.
