Lima, Peru – A special Pastor’s Day celebration at UPF-Peru headquarters in Miraflores on June 27, 2026, honored those who dedicate their lives to serving their faith communities. More than 70 religious leaders from Christian and other faiths joined the event, which was co-sponsored by UPF-Peru and the Interreligious Association for Peace and Development (IAPD) Peru.
The program began with congratulatory remarks from Dr. Trevor Jones, president of UPF-Peru, sent in a video from London. Pastor Orestes Sánchez Luis, president of IAPD-Peru, delivered the welcome address, encouraging everyone to continue working together for peace in Peru and the world as an interfaith community united under one God. A video presentation introducing the work of UPF co-founder Dr. Hak Ja Han was also shown.
Dr. Humberto Collado Román, academic vice rector of the Universidad Ciencias Líderes (University of Leading Sciences), gave the keynote address on the role and responsibilities of a pastor in the 21st century. During the event, Mr. Jaime Fernández Túpac, secretary general of UPF-Peru 31, inducted 31 religious leaders as new Ambassadors for Peace.
Pastor's Day is an occasion to recognize and express gratitude for the leadership and pastoral care carried out by all spiritual leaders. It honors their vocation of service and offers an opportunity to show appreciation for the time, energy and prayers they invest in the community for the sake of God's work.
