Ouahigouya, Burkina Faso – A delegation from UPF-Burkina Faso paid a courtesy visit to His Majesty Naaba Kiba, King of Yatenga, on September 19, 2025, as part of preparations for the National Summit for Peace and Social Cohesion. Led by Cheick Malick Ouédraogo, the group of 20 ambassadors for peace gathered at the royal palace in Ouahigouya to discuss the role of traditional authority in fostering unity and applying UPF’s Five Principles of Peace.

His Majesty expressed deep appreciation for UPF’s initiative, recognizing the importance of moral leadership and traditional wisdom in modern governance.

Earlier in the month, on September 13 UPF-Burkina Faso participated in the Ziara International Conference, a high-level interfaith event featuring scholars, religious leaders, and peace advocates. Representing UPF-Burkina Faso, Secretary General Mr. Thomas Diarra and Deputy Secretary General Mr. Arouna Barré joined Ambassador El Hadj Karim Kouraogo in presenting UPF’s vision of interreligious cooperation.

The event concluded with the appointment of Cheick Abdoul Aziz Aguib Soré as an ambassador for peace, expanding UPF’s influence within the religious community.
