2025 Peace Road Argentina Launched on Children’s Day

Puerto Leoni, Argentina – More than 2,000 people participated in the launch of Peace Road 2025 at the Municipal Stadium in Puerto Leoni on August 17, 2025. The event took place on Argentina’s Children’s Day, and co-sponsoring organizations handed out toys, bicycles and other gifts to the many children in attendance. Many of the participating families were from the indigenous Mbya Guarani communities.

The event was supported by the municipal government, and Mayor Elvio Rivas joined Mr. Miguel Werner, president of UPF-Argentina, in offering welcoming remarks. Co-sponsors included Solidarity All Boys, Independent Shippers Group, Santa Rosa Volunteers, Good Will Legion, the “Voy en Bici” Association, and COOPERBA. Both children and adults enjoyed games, music, gifts, raffles, and snacks at Leoni’s Athletic Club.

The Puerto Leoni City Council declared “of permanent municipal interest” all activities that will take place under the Peace Road initiative “for their valuable contribution to a peace culture, solidarity, human rights, coexistence, and integral human development.”

Argentina’s 11th annual Peace Road campaign began on July 8 at the Buenos Aires Legislature’s Golden Hall, where El Trébol was selected as the main venue for this year’s activities. Peace Road events will be held in each province during August, September, and October, with the final event on November 30 in El Trébol, connecting the whole nation and sharing experiences from all 23 provinces.

Peace Road was declared of permanent interest by the Nation’s Chamber of Deputies in 2024, “for its noble purpose of bringing peoples and cultures together, transcending ethnicities, nationalities, and religions.” Peace Road was also declared of permanent interest “for the promotion and defense of human rights” by the Buenos Aires Legislature in 2019, and by other provincial and municipal legislatures across the nation.
