Young Ambassadors for Peace Induct New Leadership in Liberia

Monrovia, Liberia – The historic National Legislature of Liberia was the stage for an inspiring gathering of young leaders, dignitaries, and peace advocates in Monrovia on Monday, October 27, 2025. The event, organized by UPF-Liberia in collaboration with the Young Ambassadors for Peace (YAP), marked two important milestones: an Induction Ceremony for the newly elected YAP leadership, and the official launch of Liberia’s 100 Days of Harmony and Hope Campaign.

The ceremony was made possible through the partnership and support of Hon. Sam P. Jallah, who graciously opened the doors of the National House of Parliament for this memorable occasion. His presence and goodwill underscored the government’s recognition of the vital role youth can play in fostering peace and moral leadership in the country.

Following an election on September 18, 2025, this induction symbolized not only a transition of leadership but also the continuation of the noble mission of empowering young people to embody and spread the values of peace, love, and service to others.

The ceremony gathered 18 young leaders, senior UPF ambassadors, and distinguished guests. In his welcome address, Hon. Jallah assured the new leaders of his continued partnership, and encouraged the youth to be proactive in promoting unity, service, and peace within their communities.

The outgoing president, Amb. Varney V. Sheriff, offered a reflective and empowering message, sharing lessons from his leadership journey. He highlighted the challenges faced, the partnerships forged, and the progress achieved during his tenure. He encouraged the incoming team to remain policy-driven and to be “positive changemakers in their society, nation, and world.”

Finally, the newly elected vice president, Amb. Unison Nahgbah Meantuo, delivered a sincere vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to Hon. Jallah, the outgoing leadership, and all young ambassadors for the trust placed in him. His words radiated humility and readiness to serve.

The atmosphere was inspiring, empowering, and filled with youthful energy. From the solemn oath-taking to the joyous songs and applause that filled the hall, participants radiated hope and unity. The venue – the National Legislature – added weight and historical significance to the occasion, symbolizing that young leaders are stepping into positions of civic responsibility and national contribution. The ceremony blended reverence with celebration, embodying UPF’s vision of raising principled leaders who live for the sake of others.
