Bangkok, Thailand – To mark the 74th anniversary of the Korean War, a UPF delegation led by Hon. Ek Nath Dhakal, chairman of UPF-Asia-Pacific, paid a visit to the headquarters of the Thai Korean War Veterans Association in Bangkok on June 26, 2024. Hon. Dhakal and the association’s vice president, Air Marshall Veerasak Kanmany, each laid a wreath at the Korean War memorial on the grounds of the association.
Following the act of remembrance, Mr. Kanmany explained the activities of the Thai Korean War Veterans Association. Representing Dr. Charles S. Yang, president of UPF, Hon. Dhakal thanked Thailand for its sacrifices in support of South Korea for over 20 years, during and after the Korean War. In appreciation of the association’s work for the benefit of war veterans and their descendants, Hon. Dhakal presented the Ambassador for Peace Award to its president, Gen. Bundit Malaiarisoon, and offered a donation in support of the scholarship program run by the association.
