Vancouver Interfaith Group Voices Optimism in Turbulent Times
Vancouver, Canada – A group of ambassadors for peace and representatives of different religious groups gathered on September 6, 2026, in Vancouver to participate in a discussion on the theme “The Last Days: Beyond the Tribulation and Chaos of our Time.” Mr. Alan Wilding, director of UPF-Western Canada, and Ms. Sherry Marciel of the Multi–Faith Summit Council of British Columbia led the meeting with in-depth presentations.
Mr. Benjamin Takeawoa, assistant director of UPF-Vancouver, served as MC for the event. Dr. Katsumi Kambashi, pastor at Family Federation for World Peace Vancouver and Western Canada, hosted the meeting, assisted by several youth missionaries who helped facilitate the smooth running of the meeting.
Notable participants included Dr. Emanual Taylor, Rev. Kati Brisebois, and Mr. Edward Wong of St. Monica’s Parish, as well as representatives of the Baha’i faith.
A wonderful lunch was provided by Ms. Marciel and members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. All the participants were happy to enjoy each others’ company after the long summer break, as well as to share the optimism their faith provided even in the face of turbulent times.
