Stockholm, Sweden – A special Peace Road walk took place on September 27, 2026, in Stockholm, organized by UPF-Sweden to commemorate the visit of UPF co-founder Dr. Hak Ja Han to the city in 1993.
The route followed part of the journey associated with her visit, taking participants through Stockholm’s historic Old Town and city center. The walk began at the Grand Hôtel, where Dr. Han stayed during her visit, and concluded at the former Nordic Crown Hotel, now the Hilton Stockholm Slussen, where she delivered her speech on November 12, 1993.
Her speech was part of the European leg of a 40-nation world tour. The central themes included the importance of establishing true families rooted in God’s ideal of love. She emphasized the need to restore moral and family values in response to social challenges such as drug abuse and family breakdown, as well as the special mission of women in building a peaceful world.
Following the walk, one participant warmly welcomed all 30 walkers into her home, where they enjoyed a delicious hot meal together. The gathering provided a lovely opportunity to share fellowship and strengthen the shared sense of community.
The event combined historical remembrance with the spirit of Peace Road, bringing participants together to reflect on Dr. Hak Ja Han’s message and UPF’s continuing vision of peace through strong families, shared values and mutual understanding.
