Peru Events Celebrate International Women’s Day

Lima, Peru – During the month of March, UPF-Peru held two events to celebrate International Women’s Day, one in Lima and one in the northwestern province of Piura.
Under the auspices of Congressman Raúl Huamán Coronado, UPF-Peru organized a gathering at the Congress of the Republic on March 4, 2026. The program was held in the Congressional auditorium, attended by 150 participants.
UPF-Peru President Dr. Trevor Jones sent a welcoming address via video from London. Four panelists spoke on safeguarding women's rights and empowering them in all spheres of society. Secretary General Mr. Jaime Fernández swore in 29 new Ambassadors for Peace. In addition, seven outstanding Ambassadors for Peace were awarded for their true leadership, humanitarian work, and dedication to living for the good of others.
On March 8, the UPF-Peru branch in Piura Province and its team of Ambassadors for Peace visited the town of Pampas Castilla to celebrate International Women's Day with about 40 participants. As part of the academic, social and humanitarian work of the ambassadors in Piura, Monsignor José Guerrero officiated a mass, and Ms. Cecilia Rengifo Rivas gave a talk on women's empowerment and domestic violence. Gifts were provided to participants at the end.
