Amsterdam, Netherlands – On Sunday afternoon, August 10, 2025, UPF-Netherlands held a Peace Road event in Vondelpark in Amsterdam. Passersby in the park were approached to inform them about the Peace Road Project, which is part of the pursuit of the ideal of humanity as one family under God. The event was supported by guitarist and singer Mr. Giancarlo Dragonnetti.
This year, the Peace Road flyers featured the theme: “No War, but Cooperation! Europe as a Peace Project deserves a big revival!” They pointed out that it is 75 years since French statesman Mr. Robert Schuman issued his Schuman Declaration, which is seen as the beginning of cooperation between countries in Europe that eventually led to the European Union. The spirit behind this declaration was one of forgiveness, reconciliation and making a fresh start in order to share resources as well as to cooperate for the wellbeing of all citizens.
As Mr. Schuman and his colleagues from Italy and Germany were devout Christians, the whole effort was meant to please the Creator. In this day and age, it is worth pointing out once again that it is much better to cooperate for the good of citizens than to wage war.
