Yerevan, Armenia – It has become a beautiful tradition in Armenia to celebrate September 21 – both the country’s Independence Day and the United Nations International Day of Peace – with a Peace Road activity. This year, continuing this meaningful tradition, a dedicated group of participants gathered for a march to Mount Azhdahak, which rises to 2,597 meters above sea level.
Unexpectedly, the 19 participants were met with very harsh conditions – snow and strong winds. Despite the unfavorable weather, the participants worked together, supported one another, and successfully reached their destination. The spirit of unity and perseverance demonstrated throughout the journey reflected the very essence of the Peace Road vision: overcoming barriers together in the name of peace.
The participants expressed heartfelt gratitude to UPF founders Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han, whose vision for the Peace Road initiative has made it possible to hold such meaningful events in Armenia and around the world, inspiring people to walk together on the path toward peace.
