Chisinau, Moldova – Stories, crafts and games delighted dozens of children and their families at UPF-Moldova’s outdoor celebration of the International Day of Peace on September 21, 2025. The vibrant and heartwarming event drew more than 140 participants, who gathered to explore what peace means in everyday life, and to experience it through creativity, play, and community connection.
The day began with Storytelling for Peace, where children listened to tales of kindness, respect, and collaboration. Through each story, the young listeners discovered how simple choices – helping a friend, showing empathy, or resolving conflicts peacefully – can make a big difference in their daily lives.
Next, the families joined in a Creative Arts Workshop, crafting doves, hearts, and peace trees. Each piece was a personal expression of hope, and together they formed a vibrant display titled “Our Dream of Peace.” The collective artwork reflected the shared aspirations of the children and adults alike, turning imagination into a symbol of unity.
The day also featured Peace Games, where children and parents engaged in team-based activities designed to foster collaboration and non-violent communication. Laughter, cheers, and the joy of working together filled the space, showing that peace can be learned through fun, cooperation, and mutual respect.
The event welcomed over 100 children aged 4–12, along with approximately 40 parents and family members, supported by volunteers and facilitators from UPF and local partners. Together, the participants created an atmosphere of warmth, inspiration, and shared purpose.
This celebration served as a vivid reminder that peace begins in the family, grows in the community, and blossoms when nurtured through understanding, creativity, and cooperation. For everyone involved, it was a day to imagine, create, and play in a world filled with hope and harmony.
