Leadership Camp Provides Key Skills to Sri Lankan Youth

Monaragala District, Sri Lanka – Students from Kolladeniya College participated in a three-day Leadership Camp organized by UPF-Sri Lanka and the Religious Youth Service (RYS) of Sri Lanka, from October 4-6, 2025. The event was timed to coincide with World Children’s Day, which is celebrated on October 1 in Sri Lanka.

The camp was guided by the senior leadership of the organizing bodies, including Dr. Chula Senarathna, secretary general of UPF-Sri Lanka; Mrs. Dineesha Liyanasuriya, secretary general of RYS-Sri Lanka; and Mr. Pulinda Prabath, national organizer of RYS-Sri Lanka.

The program was designed to instill core leadership principles, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility in the participants. Activities included interactive workshops on leadership, communication, and decision-making, as well as team-building exercises and outdoor challenges. There were sessions on character development and principles of peace, aligning with the values of UPF and RYS, and discussions related to the significance of World Children's Day and children's rights.

Dedicated members of the RYS-Sri Lanka team were instrumental in the execution and facilitation of the program throughout the duration of the camp.

The program concluded with a ceremony to acknowledge the commitment and successful completion of the program by all attendees. Every participant was presented with a certificate and a gift pack as a token of recognition for their enthusiasm and dedication during the 3-day leadership training.

The Leadership Camp served as a valuable platform to foster future leaders, promote community spirit, and mark the celebration of World Children's Day by investing in the youth of Monaragala District.
