Tel Aviv, Israel – The Center of Scientology Israel convened a timely webinar bringing together religious leaders from diverse faith traditions to address the theme “Faith and Overcoming Challenges During Times of Crisis.” Representatives of UPF-Israel participated in the program on March 30, 2026, alongside other faith leaders.
The webinar took place against the backdrop of the ongoing stress and trauma affecting many people in the region due to the current conflict. The organizers invited speakers to offer spiritual insights and practical guidance on coping with uncertainty and hardship.
Mr. Sefi Fischler, public affairs director of the Center of Scientology Israel, opened the event by raising a central question: How can individuals maintain clarity and purpose amid chaotic and challenging circumstances?
Rabbi Zvulun Raviv, a spiritual leader in the Bukharian Jewish community, emphasized the importance of cultivating inner resilience, particularly through gratitude. Drawing on his experience as an educator, he noted that while physical wounds can often be treated, emotional and spiritual wounds may persist if not addressed. He encouraged the development of daily habits that support healing and inner freedom.
Sheikh Nazir Hino, a Druze religious leader and educator, highlighted the importance of recognizing the goodness inherent in God’s creation. He cautioned against excessive materialism and overexposure to social media, suggesting instead a return to reflective practices such as reading and contemplation to restore inner balance and peace.
Amir Sharif Odeh, a prominent figure in the Ahmadiyya Muslim community in Israel, spoke about compassion as a central value in times of crisis. He stressed that caring for others and contributing to the well-being of society are essential pathways to achieving inner peace.
Representing UPF-Israel, Mr. Hod Ben Zvi shared a perspective grounded in UPF’s vision of “one human family under God.” He emphasized the importance of maintaining a worldview that fosters hope and responsibility, even in difficult times. He referred to the principle of the “three blessings” – personal growth, family harmony, and responsible stewardship of creation – as a framework for building resilience. He also quoted UPF co-founder Dr. Hak Ja Han, who teaches the value of living with ever-deepening gratitude.
Mr. Fischler further contributed insights inspired by the teachings of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, suggesting that maintaining focus on one’s original purpose can help overcome obstacles and reveal inner strength.
The final speaker, Dr. Yehuda Stolov, founder and executive director of the Interfaith Encounter Association, underscored the vital role of interfaith dialogue, particularly in times of conflict. He described dialogue as a powerful tool for mutual support, strengthening hope, and fostering cooperation across communities.
The webinar concluded with active participation and positive responses from attendees representing a wide range of communities. The event demonstrated the important role that interfaith engagement and shared spiritual values can play in promoting resilience, understanding, and hope during challenging times.
