IAACP Highlights Scientology Founder’s Musical Side

Elizabeth, United States – Maestro David Eaton, global coordinator of the International Association of Art and Culture for Peace (IAACP), gave a presentation at the original L. Ron Hubbard Scientology site in Elizabeth, New Jersey on July 25, 2026. Maestro Eaton was invited to speak at the event by the museum’s curator, Ms. Valery Merritt. Ms. Merritt and her husband Alex were commissioned as Ambassadors for Peace in 2025.
The occasion was a Historic Preservation Award Ceremony, presented for the restoration of the three-story Colonial-Revival style house to its 1950 appearance. Mr. L. Ron Hubbard, founder of the Church of Scientology, lived and worked in the house at that time.
In addition to being a prolific writer, Mr. Hubbard was a musician who performed and composed a great deal of music. His vision for art as a vehicle to encourage positive societal change is aligned with the goals and vision of IAACP and the UPF founders. David Eaton cited the UPF founders’ efforts in developing an international network of artists of all disciplines who would commit to using their creative endeavors toward the creation of a culture for peace.
He also referenced his recently published book “What Music Tells Me: Beauty, Truth, Goodness and Our Cultural Inheritance,” which is a collection of essays regarding the intersectional relationships between music, religion, politics and philosophy throughout history.
