Majuro, Marshall Islands – UPF Peace Ambassador and High Chief Mr. Christopher J. Loeak, who served as president of the Republic of the Marshall Islands from 2012–2016, passed away on August 8, 2025, in Hawaii. President Loeak was a strong supporter of UPF, and attended the UPF World Summit 2020 with his wife, First Lady Anono Lieom Loeak.

To honor his legacy, UPF representatives attended his funeral service on August 29, 2025, at the United Church of Christ in Majuro.

In 2012, while in office, President Loeak paid a condolence visit to the Peace Embassy of the Marshall Islands upon the passing of UPF co-founder Rev. Sun Myung Moon. First Lady Anono also participated in the 2014 World Summit in Korea and the First Ladies Summit in Palau in 2019.
