Diverse Traditions Unite at Buddhist Festival in Vancouver

Updated: May 15

Vancouver, Canada – On a beautiful spring day, May 4, 2025, on the lawn at the rear of the Vancouver City Hall, UPF Ambassadors for Peace and other religious leaders stood on the stage together in support of the third annual Buddhist Peace Festival.

Rev. Alan Wilding, UPF coordinator for Western Canada, commended the organizers for successfully uniting the diverse traditions of Buddhism, transcending their differences. He then gave a brief history of UPF’s founding and the five basic principles emphasized by the Founders Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon. A Buddhist prayer for world peace concluded the brief presentation.

Following the speech, a presentation of a Certificate of Appreciation was made to the Universal Peace Federation of Canada by Tsengdok Rinpoche, the Buddhist master and main organizer from the Tsengdok Buddhist Monastery.
