Albanians Celebrate World Day of Social Justice

Vau i Dejës, Albania – To mark the World Day of Social Justice, UPF-Albania organized an event in the Municipality of Vau i Dejës on February 20, 2026, titled, “Peace Begins with Justice.” The program gathered around 30 participants, including representatives of local institutions, leaders of peace councils, and personalities actively engaged in community service.
Among those present were Mr. Ervis Molla, deputy mayor of Vau i Dejës; Mr. Kole Shaben, chairman of the local Peace Council; Ms. Majlinda Laçaj, chair of the Shkodër Regional Peace Council; Ms. Marie Koliqi, member of the UPF Leadership Council; and Ms. Manjola Vasmatics, president of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, along with other respected regional personalities.
The event was moderated by Ms. Sentiljana Marku, vice chair of the local Peace Council. During the discussions, participants emphasized the importance of social justice as a fundamental pillar for building a stable and peaceful society where every individual enjoys dignity, equal opportunity, and respect. The role of institutions, families, and communities in strengthening a culture of peace and cooperation was also highlighted.
A particularly meaningful moment was the ceremony appointing new Ambassadors for Peace, recognizing their community service and promotion of universal values of peace.
The event was further enriched by artistic performances from students of the Hajmel School, who created an inspiring and hopeful atmosphere.
