Albania Celebrates Parents as Purveyors of Spiritual Values

Shkodër, Albania – In celebration of the Global Day of Parents, the Shkodër Regional Peace Council held a special reception at the Hotel Colosseo on June 3, 2025. The theme was “The Role of Parents in Strengthening the Spiritual Values of the Nation.”

Nearly 100 people gathered, including ambassadors for peace, public figures, special guests and young members of the Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles (CARP). The atmosphere was warm and stimulating. 

Ms. Majlinda Lachaj, chairperson of the Shkodër Regional Peace Council, moderated the event with professional flair.

The ceremony attracted national and international attention due to the participation of prominent figures, including H.E. Alfred Moisiu, former president of Albania; H.E. Fatmir Sejdiu, former president of Kosovo; Mr. Jacques Marion, president of UPF-Europe and the Middle East; Mr. Defrim Methasani, chairman of UPF-Albania; and Mr. Ali Lacej, coordinator of the National Peace Council

Part of the program was dedicated to art, literature and music. Maestro Anton Kaftalli performed a lovely piece on his violin; Ms. Denata Rroji read a moving poem about her father; and the CARP youth group performed a rhythmic dance.

To conclude the event, ten prominent Shkodër personalities were presented with the Ambassador for Peace Award for their contribution to spreading the values of harmony and interdependence.
