Lima, Peru—Outstanding women leaders were speakers at the celebration of the International Women’s Day held on March 8, 2023 at the Historical House of Marshal Ramón Castillo auditorium. More than 200 people attended the meeting hosted by the Universal Peace Federation UPF-Peru branch.
The celebration was chaired by Dr. Trevor Jones, UPF-Peru executive president, who opened the meeting virtually. In the same way, Dr. Teresa Otiniano Castillo, general secretary of the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace IAPP Peru, and Eng. Natalie Condori Jahuira, the former congresswoman of the Republic of Peru, attended this important celebration as guests of honor. Likewise, Ivonne Ruth Tapia Vivas, the Metropolitan Councillor of Lima; Justibel Romero Zela, the Metropolitan Councillor of Lima; Elizabeth Nancy Cabezas Flores, the Councillor of Ate district; and Carmen Álvarez Miranda, the Councillor of Rímac district, participated as panellists.
The forum was attended by distinguished guests and Ambassadors for Peace, including General Héctor Jhon Caro, the vice president of UPF-Peru, and Mr. Ángel Sánchez Dueñas, the secretary general of IMAP Peru and president of the Federation of Journalists of Peru. In the same way, Pastor Orestes Sánchez Luis, the former congressman of the Republic and current secretary general of the Interreligious Association for Peace and Development IAPD Peru, and Pastor Violeta Nolasco, member of IAPD, attended the event.
As part of the celebration, an incorporation ceremony for 28 new Ambassadors for Peace was held. Dr. Jones gave an induction speech to the new ambassadors, welcoming them to the organization. The appointment ceremony was led by UPF-Peru general secretary Mr. Jaime Fernández, who gave the certificates to the new ambassadors. Surgeon Luis Enrique Viscarra Jara, director of María Auxiliadora Hospital, and Mrs. Ana Odali Parada Casanova offered acknowledgement remarks for their appointment as Ambassadors for Peace, ratifying their commitment to promote peace and provide help to those most in need.
Certificates of recognition were awarded to women leaders for their outstanding work in support of peace and those most in need. The meeting concluded with a performance by singer Pedro Parvina, former vocalist of the musical group Los Pasteles Verdes. Closing remarks were given by Mr. Fernández.

Lima, Peru—Destacadas autoridades mujeres participaron como ponentes en la celebración del Día Internacional de la Mujer de las Naciones Unidad 2023. El pasado 8 de marzo de 2023 el auditorio de la Casa del mariscal Ramón Castilla reunió a más de 200 personas en el evento organizado por la Federación para la Paz Universal UPF Perú.
La celebración fue presidida por el Dr. Trevor Jones, Presidente de UPF Perú, quien inauguró virtualmente el evento. Del mismo modo, la Dra. Teresa Otiniano Castillo, Secretaria General de la Asociación Internacional de Parlamentarios para la Paz IAPP Perú y la Ex Congresista de la República del Perú la Ing. Natalie Condori Jahuira se dieron cita en esta importante celebración como invitadas de honor. Asimismo, la Hon. Ivonne Ruth Tapia Vivas, Regidora Metropolitana de Lima, la Hon. Justibel Romero Zela, Regidora Metropolitana de Lima, la Hon. Elizabeth Nancy Cabezas Flores, Regidora del distrito de Ate y la Hon. Carmen Álvarez Miranda, Regidora del distrito del Rímac participaron como panelistas en la reunión.
El foro conto con la presencia de distinguidos invitados y embajadores para la paz, incluyendo el vicepresidente de la UPF Perú el Gral. Héctor Jhon Caro, él Lic. Ángel Sánchez Dueñas Secretario General de IMAP Perú y presidente de la Federación de Periodistas del Perú. Del mismo modo, el ex congresista de la República Pr. Orestes Sánchez Luis y secretario de la Asociación Interreligiosa para la Paz y el Desarrollo IAPD Perú y la Pastora Violeta Nolasco miembro de IAPD acudieron al evento.
Como parte de la celebración, se celebró la ceremonia de incorporación de 28 nuevos embajadores para la paz. El Dr. Trevor Jones, Presidente Ejecutivo de UPF Perú brindó un discurso de incorporación a los nuevos embajadores para la paz, dándoles la bienvenida a la organización. La ceremonia de juramentación estuvo presidida por el Secretario General de UPF Perú, el Lic. Jaime Fernández, quien hizo entrega de las credenciales a los nuevos embajadores para la paz. El Médico Cirujano Luis Enrique Viscarra Jara, Director del Hospital María Auxiliadora y la Sra Ana Odali Parada Casanova, brindaron palabras de agradecimiento por su reciente nombramiento como Embajadores para la Paz, ratificando su compromiso de promover la paz y bridar ayuda a los más necesitados.
Posteriormente, se entregó diplomas de reconocimiento a mujeres líderes por su destacada labor a favor de la paz y los más necesitados. . El evento contó con la presentación cultural del cantante Pedro Parvina (ex vocalista del grupo musical los Pasteles Verdes). El cierre del evento estuvo a cargo del Lic.
