Voronezh, Russia – To mark Global Recycling Day on November 15, 2023, Elena Knyazeva, coordinator of environmental programs of UPF-Russia, held an eco-game program for students at the Center for Children and Youth Creativity in Voronezh. Forty-eight children took part in the games. The children's eco-festival was held with the support of the Ecology Department of the Voronezh Region and the Voronezh Nature Reserve.

Voronezh environmental activists also attended a Summit on the Sustainable Development of Black Earth Territories as part of this day. The main topics of the forum were: assessment of territory development, sustainable tourism, responsible business conduct and tools for developing a comfortable urban environment.

Global Recycling Day is an annual event, held on March 18 in many countries, but on November 15 in Russia. Its goal is to attract the attention of authorities, businesses, public organizations and citizens to the problems of limited resources, environmental pollution and waste management.
