IMAP USA Webinar Features Programs Supporting Family Stability

IMAP-USA – A sound society guides its youth to lead healthy and meaningful lives, grow up to create strong marriages and families, and nurture children of their own. Yet in our current world, young people unfortunately must learn to navigate a culture that sexualizes children and a veritable minefield of readily accessible porn. To address this issue, International Media Association for Peace (IMAP) hosted a webinar on December 26, 2023 on the theme, “Healthy Families for a Peaceful World: Why Sexual Integrity Matters.”

The first speaker, Dr. Robert Kittel, co-chair of UPF-Asia Pacific and IMAP coordinator, spoke on “Sexual Responsibility and Patriotism.” Since strong families are the foundation of a strong nation, he described teen pregnancy and family breakdown as undermining the integrity of a nation. He pointed out that a patriot must protect the nation from both external and internal threats.

Ms. Blessie Belle Ramos, regional leader for the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, Philippines, introduced a case study based on Sun Hwa International Academy in the Philippines.  She talked about the academy’s emphasis on sexual integrity and its success in preventing teen pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) among its students. She is a graduate of that school, as well as a graduate of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, and a dedicated educator.

The final talk was given by David and Mitsui Wolfenberger, who in 2015 founded High Noon International, which promotes “life without shadows.” They described their success in helping countless youth overcome the corrupting and addictive influence of pornography. Their central focus is helping couples sustain a loving relationship, through their positive teaching about sexuality. They highlight Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s novel approach of “absolute sex,” elaborated in the book, “ Core of the Universe,” published by High Noon International.

The session was moderated by Pierre Beauregard, Canadian coordinator for IMAP.
