Asian Leaders Gather in Thailand to Discuss Asia’s Role in Global Peace

Bangkok, Thailand—UPF-Asia held another Asian Leadership Conference (ALC) from January 7 to 11, 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand, on the theme, “Global Peace in the 21st Century: Asia’s Responsibility.” Among the 49 participants from four different countries in Asia were 42 leaders and government officials from Cambodia, including the director general of the Ministry of Civil Service, deputy director general of the Ministry of Interior and the vice governors of Banteay Meanchey and Kampong Chhnang provinces.

A presentation was given by Dr. Chung Sik Yong, chair of UPF-Asia, on “The Attributes of True Love,” which struck a deep chord in the hearts of all the participants.

A new and very powerful component of the ALC was the Interfaith Peace Blessing ceremony. Married couples embraced each other and reaffirmed their marriage vows of love and fidelity.

Many of the conference participants offered their support to UPF for the upcoming International Leadership Conference and the International Youth Convention in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
