Workshop in Family Values in Yekaterinburg

Yekaterinburg, Russia - As part of the International Women's Day in Yekaterinburg, the workshop on family values ​​"Family – the school of love” took place March 9 – 10, 2014. The event was initiated by the UPF Ural Branch in collaboration with the network training company “” It was attended by 30 participants.

The thesis of "the family is the school of love and peace" is one of the five fundamental UPF principles (link). Within the family everyone gets basic moral values ​​that he carries through his entire life influencing the community. The issue of family values ​​was the leitmotif of the entire workshop. At the first presentation of Eugene Skvortsov on "Natural family values" there were pointed out four values: parental altruism, filial piety, and chastity, premarital and marital fidelity.

Indeed, the content of values is purely individual causing controversy in the community. On the issue of these and other barriers that oppose building a strong family was the second presentation by Olga Lapina, who revealed different understanding of marriage and family in different countries. First of all, it is necessary to resolve the contradictions on the conceptual level through dialogue and exchange of experience. It was the theme of the next program of the first day, which was introduced by the couple Ivanchikova-Nemerovsky, and the psychologist-practitioner, Arthur Kuhar, specially invited from Novosibirsk.

On the second the participants developed practical skills. Spouses Ivanchikova-Nemerovsky gave an introductory lesson to the course "Five Languages ​​of Love", where everyone was able to work out his or her primary "love language" to make happy relationships with loved ones. They also discussed the leading features of the "love language.” Arthur Kuhar proposed a theoretical basis for settling interpersonal conflicts on the basis of the Unification Thought; he gave examples showed how to productively solve conflicts.

Workshop "Family is the school of Love" is an invitation to participate in a program for young families and those wishing to start a family "Course of a young family man" (link), which includes ten topical meetings. The special feature of the training course is to consider the positive experience of building strong families in Russia on the basis of the "Unification Thought". Classes will be conducted by specialists with psychological or pedagogical education who have experience in building successful relationships in the family. The next workshop is scheduled for May and linked to the International Day of Families.
