Interfaith Harmony Week Commemorated in Tegucigalpa

Tegucigalpa, Honduras - With a video, readings, prayers, and lunch, UPF-Honduras celebrated World Interfaith Harmony Week on February 4 at the Peace Embassy.

In Nuevas Flores, where UPF is building a medical clinic with the support of young volunteers, World Interfaith Harmony Week was commemorated on February 9 with readings about peace, tolerance, and cooperation from the scriptures of various religious traditions. Rev. Carol Pobanz was present and contributed funds to build the roof of the clinic. The project is an example of cooperation between Catholics and Protestants. The program closed with people signing a commemorative banner.

The final event, on February 11, took place in the Central Park of the capital, Tegucigalpa. A booth was set up to provide information about interfaith cooperation for peace, human dignity, and development. People also signed a commemorative banner.
