'Peace Road' Marathon Concludes in Moscow's Victory Park

Russia-2020-08-16-‘Peace Road’ Marathon Comes to an End

Moscow, Russia—After 15 days and 1,100 kilometers, the 2020 Peace Road relay marathon concluded in Moscow’s Victory Park.

The marathon, which this year had the theme “I remember, I am proud," was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II.

UPF has been a co-organizer of this project for more than ten years.

The marathon started on August 2 from "Kilometer Zero” (the exact center of Moscow) next to Red Square. For two weeks, marathon participants, aged from 9 to 85, ran through 23 Russian cities before returning to Moscow on August 16.

The run was covered by federal and local media, and the runners were greeted by representatives of the administration of different cities.

We congratulate the participants of the marathon who, despite the pandemic, following all safety requirements, completed such an important and hopeful project.
