Overseas Albanians Honored

Elbasan, Albania—Leaders of the Albanian diaspora were honored in a ceremony in the city of Elbasan.
About 200 people attended the event on September 2, 2021, which was organized by Ilirjana Sulkuqi, the chairwoman of the Albanians' Peace Council of New York.
Mrs. Sulkuqi brought together the leaders of three Albanian schools: in Philadelphia, United States; Patra, Greece; and Asti, Italy.
The mayor of Elbasan awarded certificates of gratitude to those three schools, and to a few national-level artists who are Ambassadors for Peace.
We appointed five new Ambassadors for Peace (three Albanians living in Greece and two from the local area, including the mayor of Elbasan).
There were only the banners of UPF at the event, even though almost everything was organized by the local mayor.
