Ukrainian Youth Try Model G20 Summit

Ukraine-2019-04-07-Ukrainian Youth Try Model G20 Summit

Kyiv, Ukraine—Students were given the chance to be diplomats as they participated in the first youth model of the G20 Summit in Ukraine.

On April 6 and 7, 2019, the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, in partnership with Universal Peace Federation and the Cinario Public Organization, held a model G20 summit, in which the well-known format of Group of 20 negotiations was adapted to Ukrainian youth.

This summit was attended by students of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and foreign volunteers invited by UPF.

The model consisted of two parts:

Theoretical part — Seven workshops from leading Ukrainian specialists in energy, economics, journalism and politics.

Practical part — Participants united in delegations representing one of the G20 countries. The delegates of one country worked in parallel tracks (political and financial) to solve the most important economic and political challenges of our time.

At the end of the meeting, the participants wrote a special resolution letter, which would be sent to the G20 Headquarters.

It was a unique opportunity for students and volunteers to master the art of diplomacy, become a delegate of one of the G20 countries, and make a valuable contribution to overcoming the economic challenges of humanity while spreading democratic ideas.
