Two Prominent Ghanaians Recognized by UPF

Ghana-2015-01-29-January Recognition

Accra, Ghana — Two people who have made remarkable contributions to Ghanaian society were guests of honor at a one-day seminar organized by UPF.

One, a civil engineer and building contractor, Engineer Christian K. Agbezudor, is notable for voluntarily constructing classroom blocks for many schools in Ghana.

The other, the founder and general overseer of the New Light Pentecostal Church-Ghana, Bishop Christian Gawuga, is known for setting a great standard of ethics and morals with his congregations.

Engineer Agbezudor, who also is a member of the New Light Pentecostal Church, provided his company boardroom for the seminar, which took place on January 29, 2015. In spite of their tight schedule, the two men and some of their staff members listened with interest for six hours to the PowerPoint presentations given by Dr. Helen M. Osei, secretary general of UPF-Ghana.

The presentations covered the following topics:

  • Introduction to UPF / Significance and Objectives
  • UPF Character Education Initiative
  • Spiritual Values as a Foundation for Leadership
  • Family as the School of Love

Asked for his comments right after the presentations, Bishop Gawuga remarked that the contents were an eye-opener.  He told his son, who is a resident pastor in one of his church branches, to invite Dr. Osei to speak at the church’s national pastors’ convention in April and at its annual youth rally in August.

Engineer Agbezudor and Bishop Christian Gawuga were awarded Ambassador for Peace certificates on February 1 at the New Light Pentecostal Church during the Sunday service. This event brought great honor to the awardees and much joy to the members.

Ghana’s representative at the Global Peace Council, Rev. Prof. Edwin Korley and his wife, presented the certificates to the two new Ambassadors for Peace.
