New Delhi, India—Eight doctors were honored with an Ambassador for Peace award at a special ceremony the India chapters of UPF and the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP) organized on March 11, 2021 at the Shangri-La’s Eros Hotel in New Delhi, India with 30 participants in attendance.

Delhi’s minister of health, Mr. Satyendar Jain, was the chief guest. Other distinguished guests included member of parliament, Hon. N.D. Gupta, and former president of the Editors Guild and chairman of the International Media Association for Peace (IMAP)-India, Mr. Alok Mehta, who is the 2009 recipient of the prestigious Padma Shri award from the government of India.

Former Nepalese minister and chair of UPF- and the IAPP-Asia Pacific, Hon. Ek Nath Dhakal, gave the opening remarks, and conferred the Ambassador for Peace award to the honorees, all of whom were deeply moved by the recognition.

Congratulatory remarks were given by Hon. Gupta; Hon. Ajay Datta, a member of the Delhi Legislative Assembly; and Mr. Mehta.

The program concluded with closing remarks given by Amb. K.V. Rajan, former ambassador of India and chairman of UPF-India.
