Buenos Aires, Argentina—UPF-Argentina participated in the 3rd World Congress on Intercultural and Interreligious Dialogue: “A Path Towards Peace,” held at the Argentine Chancellery in Buenos Aires from September 4 to 5, 2018. Representing UPF-Argentina at the event was Ambassador for Peace Dr. Alicia Bibiana Berini. Leaders and representatives from various faiths, including the Jewish, Christian, Mormon, Bahá'í, Sikh, among other faiths, participated in the congress.

The first session addressed the global refugee and migrant crisis. Later, paradigm shifts were discussed. Many questions were raised and some answers were given on the topics of religious freedom, the relationship between the church and state, and the potential contribution of religion to social responsibility.

The potential contribution of religion to bioethics was also examined, as well as human trafficking; climate change; sustainable development; and renewable energies.

The congress was streamed live on the Internet, allowing participants in other countries the opportunity to submit questions and comments in real-time.

At the end of the two-day program, it was announced that the next congress will take place in Corrientes, a city in Corrientes province, which shares a border with Paraguay, Brazil and Uruguay.

It was also announced that a representative of the Bahá'í faith community is filing papers to hold an event at the Bahá'í World Centre in Israel.

Infobae, an Argentinian news website, wrote an article on the event, which can be viewed at
