Christian, Jewish and Muslim Peacemakers Come to Washington, D.C.

Washington, D.C. – Thousands of peacemakers came to celebrate peace on the lawn of the U.S. Capitol on August 9 at the Global Peace Festival USA. The gathering, billed as the largest interfaith and multicultural event ever held in Washington D.C., was the second in a series of fifteen Global Peace Festivals this year.

On March 19, we welcomed the Conseil de leaders interreligieux de Montréal-Nord (Montreal North Interreligious Leaders Council), who spoke about the council and their activities to date. Nearly 40 people attended. As the presentation was in French, Anthony Mansour, director of the Canadian Centre for Ecumenism, graciously translated into English

February Interfaith Breakfast in Montreal

Brussels Conference Promotes Coexistence among Religions

An International Conference on Interfaith Dialogue towards Global Peace at the Peace Embassy in Brussels, Belgium, unanimously passed a resolution entitled "Brussels Peace Declaration on Religious Coexistence" on December 1, 2007. Participants discussed the importance of interfaith harmony and conflict resolution to combat extremism, intolerance, hatred, and violence in the name of religion.
