New York, USA - UPF chapters organized a variety of celebrations of the International Day of Families, May 15, 2011. The theme chosen by the United Nations was "Confronting Family Poverty and Social Exclusion."

Accra, Ghana - The Universal Peace Federation-Ghana held a rally with the students and teachers of the Labone Senior High School in  Accra on May 25 in commemoration of Africa Day. The theme for the rally was: “Understanding the Root Cause of Conflict.”

Moscow, Russia - The First Youth Festival of National Cultures, organized by the Moscow State Construction University and the Moscow State University of Culture and Art, took place in Moscow on May 26, the day after Africa Day.

Biel, Switzerland - To create synergy among people from different parts of Africa and Switzerland, the Komagata family hosted 12 people from different African countries at a March meeting to plan an event in honor of Africa Day. Each representative brought creativity and great interest in the goal of organizing a unique program.

Tel Aviv, Israel - A delegation of UPF-Israel met with the Ambassadors of three African Embassies in Tel Aviv on May 24, a day prior to Africa Day. Secretary General of UPF-Israel, Mr. Jeremy Jordan, explained: "We gave them a certificates recognizing their precious work and to encourage them to help raise up their nations."

Harare, Zimbabwe - During the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development celebration on May 21, 2011, UPF gave a presentation about character education to students and teachers from 21 high schools.

Honiara, Solomon Islands - A leadership seminar took place in Honiara on May 21. The seven participants, who had attended an introductory seminar one month earlier, included two high school principals, two media representatives, two community leaders, and one student.

Cotonou, Benin - Professor Noel Dossou Yovo, the first person appointed an Ambassador for Peace in Benin, passed away on May 5. He was an emeritus university professor, President of the Professors World Peace Academy of Benin, and a member of the Presiding Council and the Board of UPF-Benin.
