The Korea – Japan Tunnel: Challenges and Opportunities
TUESDAY, May 17, 2 – 3 PM EST (New York Time)
The opening of the 31.5-mile-long English Channel Tunnel in 1994 inspired renewed interest in the possibility of creating a similar connecting bridge between Japan and Korea. Over the last 20 years, a dedicated group of individuals and organizations has continued to explore the possibilities and benefits of creating such a connection, and have investigated the implementation from various perspectives. Such a project would have an enormous impact on the region, especially after the opening of North Korea, providing a new trade route connecting Japan and Korea to all of Eurasia.
Our presenters have spent many years researching this project and will present their thoughts on the engineering, political, and economic aspects.
