"Opportunity and Hope at a Time of Global Crisis:
Interdependence, Mutual Prosperity and Universal Values"
Commemorating the 15th Anniversary of the Universal Peace Federation
Dear Friends,
On the foundation of the successful World Summit 2020 convened in Seoul in February of this year, the August 9th Rally of Hope, and a series of “Peace Talks” webinars held over the past six months, the Universal Peace Federation will convene its first virtual International Leadership Conference --ILC2020-- on September 11-13, 2020 dedicated to the theme, “Opportunity and Hope at a Time of Global Crisis: Interdependence, Mutual Prosperity and Universal Values."
There will also be a special session commemorating the 15th anniversary of UPF, which was founded on September 12, 2005 at Lincoln Center in New York.
2020 has been a year of dramatic disruption, not only evidenced in the rise of the Covid 19 pandemic, but also in the areas of geopolitics, the world economy, education, the media, religion and culture, and all levels of society, including the family, communities, cities and nations. While there are reasons to despair, there is also great potential for a wide range of opportunities to emerge, new ways of envisioning our common life together as one global family, with innovative ideas and policies that enhance and accelerate human development. ILC2020 will address squarely the challenges, while also promoting realistic and hopeful solutions.
You're kindly invited to attend any of the virtual programs of ILC2020, which have been organized according to three time-zone friendly regional programs, with each being carried out over a three day period: 1) Asia Pacific; 2) the Americas; and 3) Europe-Middle East and Africa. You may register by clicking on one of the following links:

The program outline for each of the three regions mentioned above will follow a similar schedule, although with significant differences in time zone among the three. Each of the three regional programs will have their own session themes, moderators and panelists.
ILC2020 will feature program sessions that highlight the work of seven UPF Associations:
  • International Summit Council for Peace (ISCP)
  • International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP)
  • Interreligious Association for Peace and Development (IAPD)
  • International Media Association for Peace (IMAP)
  • International Association of Academicians for Peace (IAAP)
  • International Association for Peace and Economic Development (IAED)
  • International Association of First Ladies for Peace (IAFLP)
Sincerely yours,
Thomas G. Walsh, Ph.D.
Chairman, Universal Peace Federation
