Johannesburg, South Africa - The African Summit and Interfaith Family Blessing Festival
From Saturday 07 December 2019 -  08:00am
To Monday 09 December 2019 - 05:00pm

Coming after the successful African Summit and Interfaith Family Blessing Festival convened earlier this year in Johannesburg, under the theme “Building a Peaceful and Prosperous Africa Centered on Universal Values,” a follow-up program will be held to provide a forum for the participants to continue their high-level discussions on ways to address the major problems facing Africa, including economic growth, poverty, sexual violence, Boko Haram, religious extremism and water scarcity/desertification. Special focus will be given to the challenges of governance and corruption, which have historically undermined Africa’s development.

In recent public speeches given in Africa, UPF co-founder Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon has repeatedly called for a “Heavenly Africa,” which refers to the continent’s future as one that realizes God’s ideals of peace, freedom, equality and happiness. “Africa can become the heavenly Africa that attends God, becoming the light of the world. Africa is a blessed continent,” referring to its position as the birthplace of humanity, the continent's rich natural and human resources, and most significantly, the willingness of many African people, and civic, faith and traditional leaders, and organizations to unite with UPF's goal and vision for a world of sustainable peace in which everyone can live in freedom, harmony, cooperation and prosperity.
