Conferences

UPF conferences convene professionals and stakeholders from a wide range of sectors—government, religion, academia, civil society, the media, the arts, etc.—encouraging interdisciplinary and multi-sectoral dialogue aimed at the search for solutions to the world's critical problems. UPF conferences underscore the importance of spiritual values, ethical principles, teamwork, responsible leadership and good governance.

More than 600 delegates from over 60 nations—including over 140 current members of parliament and six cabinet ministers—gathered in Seoul, Korea, from February 12 to 16, 2016, for the International Leadership Conference (ILC) titled “Addressing the Critical Challenges of Our Time: The Role of Governments, Civil Society and Faith-Based Organizations.”

Against a background of strained ties and escalating tension between North and South Korea, parliamentarians from around the world who were in Seoul to attend an International Leadership Conference (ILC) joined approximately 20 Korean lawmakers at the National Assembly to call for the United Nations to establish a fifth office on the Korean Peninsula to ease tension on the peninsula and reduce fears in Northeast Asia.
