Significativa plantación de olivo en Florida

Florida, Argentina—Un olivo fue plantado el 15 de noviembre en la Delegación Municipal de Florida (Vicente López, Provincia de Buenos Aires), en el marco de la campaña “Plantemos árboles: Sembremos Paz” (*), por iniciativa del Embajador para la Paz Federico Binnes Erbach, junto al Parlamento de la Tercera Edad de Vicente López.

Previo al emotivo gesto, que contó con un numeroso grupo de representantes de distintas entidades y vecinos, hubo una grata reunión donde compartieron palabras alusivas, entre otros, Susana Orue, directora de la Delegación Municipal de Florida; Amelia Domec, presidente del Parlamento de la Tercera Edad de Vicente López; y Miguel Werner, Secretario General de UPF Argentina.

La Embajadora para la Paz Cristina Mirabelli recordó que el nombre Florida del barrio remite al enfrentamiento armado ocurrido en el Paraje de Florida, en Santa Cruz de la Sierra, hoy territorio de Bolivia, el 25 de mayo de 1814, en el marco de la gesta emancipadora. “Muchos valientes murieron por nuestra causa organizada por nuestro primer gobierno criollo, que atendía a todo el extenso territorio que eran las Provincias Unidas”, acotó la historiadora.

Cabe recordar que la conocida y popular peatonal Florida de la ciudad de Buenos Aires refiere al mismo acontecimiento histórico, donde los patriotas consiguieron reafirmar el proceso emancipador de las Provincias Unidas del Río de la Plata.

(*) La Campaña global “Plantemos árboles: Sembremos Paz” es promovida por el Programa Literario Ecológico “Y volverán a ser árboles” y UPF Argentina, a la que invitan a participar a autoridades, entidades religiosas, directivos de organizaciones de la sociedad civil, escuelas y comunidad en general. Como un gesto para seguir promoviendo conciencia colectiva por el cuidado del ambiente y generar mayores compromisos por la convivencia pacífica.
