Youth UPF

UPF offers young people the opportunity to develop their capacity as leaders and peacebuilders and work together for the greater good, alongside people of many nations, cultures and religions. Student clubs and other programs empower youth to create positive change in their communities, nations and world. For information about Youth UPF activities in Europe, click here.

Delhi, India - Interest is growing in UPF's Youth Leadership Training programs in India. Mr. Yeqing Victor Lee, Secretary General of the Washington DC-based Youth Federation for World Peace, was a featured speaker at several events at schools and universities near the nation's capital.

Kaluga, Russia - A unique Dialogue Camp for Youth was held August 20-23, 2009 in Kaluga, a city southwest of Moscow. Two hundred and fifty young people from non-commercial youth organizations participated in the project; among them were representatives from Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Baltic states, Western Europe, and foreign students attending Russian universities.

Port-Louis, Mauritius - One hundred and fifty youths from the Sai Baba Movement were appointed Youth Ambassadors for Peace by Rev. Gaerber Ruediger, senior advisor to the Mauritius Peace Council, on August 15 at Chimaya Asram.

Bangkok, Thailand - Nearly 500 youth from 15 Asian nations attended the second annual International Young Leaders Summit on August 7 in Bangkok, co-hosted by the Youth Federation for World Peace International, Universal Peace Federation-Asia, and the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia -  No one's too young to be a peacemaker. Through collecting donations of 10 sen (a Malaysian coin), Malaysian children have proven that! Within two months, a total of RM 143,730.10 (US$ 40,700) was collected by the united effort of about 500,000 children in this southeast Asian nation. [watch video report.]

Beirut, Lebanon - Lebanese Ambassadors for Peace organized a drawing competition for high school seniors with the theme, “My vision for the Lebanon I want my children to grow up in.” Winners were announced at the March 23 program in Beirut linked with the UN International Year of Reconciliation.

Nairobi, Kenya - The International Young Leaders Summit of the Universal Peace Federation and the Youth Federation for World Peace took place March 19-21 in Nairobi, Kenya with the theme: “The Role of Young Leaders in Achieving the UN Millennium Development Goals and Peace Building in Africa.” Kenya Jaycees President Vincent Rapando reported that this was the first event of its kind in Kenya.

Nairobi, Kenya - Hundreds of young leaders and professionals from all over Africa and the world converged on the United Nations Office in Nairobi, Kenya on March 20 to launch a movement of Young Ambassadors for Peace and to gain the knowledge and tools to successfully build peace and achieve the UN Millennium Development Goals.
