City Helps Village: Youth Discuss Self-Development

Pokrovskoye, Urals, Russia - In the village of Pokrovskoye, Sverdlovsk region (Ural), classroom sessions were led on the topic of “Self Development – Development of Relationships – Development of Territories” on December 3 as part of the City Helps Village Project. Among the participants were children of the 5th and the 8th forms of the village school.

The event was organized and carried out by the local volunteer Alexei Golosheikin, follower of the spiritual group “Ringing Cedars.” There were altogether 50 participants.

The program was aimed at awakening and developing the self-consciousness, initiative, and zeal as “true owners” among the village youth. Mass migration from villages to cities aggravates the multiple crises in society. A happy future depends directly on each person, and only to small degree on legislation and government decisions.

Teachers and children liked the meetings very much. It was decided that the program should develop further on.
