Dushanbe, Tajikistan - After the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, many former republics, including Tajikistan, faced an ideological vacuum. A philosopher, Mr. Abdulvohid Shamolov was looking for foundational concepts the foundation for this newly independent nation of central Asia.

Mr. Shamolov met Dr. Sun Myung Moon in 2005 when he came to Dushanbe to deliver his message of peace that inaugurated the Universal Peace Federation. The next year, Mr. Shamolov attended an International Leadership Conference in Korea, where he learned more about Dr. Moon's teachings. In them, he found an answer to his long quest.

Representatives of UPF-Tajikistan met with Mr. Shamolov in July 2010 to explore ways to collaborate. He described his work as director of the Institute of Philosophy of the Academy of Science and his ongoing vision about working for one family under God and building a network of Ambassadors for Peace in Tajikistan.
