|Israeli Ambassadors for Peace Honor a Diligent Peace Activist|

Jerusalem, Israel - The Israeli chapter of UPF hosted a prominent Ambassador for Peace from Germany, Dr. Hedwig Raskob. Dr. Raskob often visits Israel and Palestine to help advise on conflict resolution and to promote her unique methods of “peace spirals.” Often she has been guided around by senior Ambassadors for Peace Prof. Eliezer and Mrs. Rachel Glaubach, who proposed to hold a special gathering in honor of the distinguished guest.
In cooperation with Dr. Nurit Hirschfield, president of Women's Federation for World Peace-Israel, several well-known professors were invited to a May 31 meeting chaired by Prof. Glaubach.
Dr. Raskob spoke about the role of women, particularly in ending the violent history of wars and suggested ways to promote a worldview that can shape social and political conditions for the well being of everybody. Her view is called “the spiral of peace,” and she spoke about encouraging the empowerment of all people, especially women.
Dr. Raskob gave examples from the political arena about how public officials show their dislike or disdain for others by the way they stand or sit in relation to one another. She said that people need to recognize how such behavior affects others and can spiral outwards to make a broader impact.
She also paid tribute to UPF's founders, Dr. and Mrs. Sun Myung Moon and their vision for world peace.
Dr. Raskob was asked many questions by different participants, and the enjoyable discussions went on late into the evening.
Mr. Jeremy Jordan, Secretary General of UPF-Israel, gave a brief explanation about UPF's activities and encouraged the participants to be part in the steering committee for the upcoming interfaith conference, scheduled for August.
