Ninety-six officials from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Congo Brazzaville, and Angola participated in an Ambassadors for Peace seminar April 21-22, 2006. The event took place in the Hotel Memling in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Presenters included Rev. Futila Di Mayeko, Secretary General of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF), Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Rev. Eiji Tokuno, UPF Regional Director for Africa Participants included government ministry officials, members of parliament, professors and newspaper editors. The closing ceremony was broadcast on national television. |
