Bangkok, Thailand—UPF and the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) in Asia co-hosted the 17th Asian Leadership Conference in Bangkok, Thailand from March 25 to 27, 2016. Presentations were given by Dr. Chung Sik Yong, chair of UPF-Asia; Mrs. Ursula McLackland, secretary general of UPF-Asia; and Dr. Robert Kittel, director of education of UPF-Asia, on UPF Founder Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s universal principles of peace.

There were a total of 114 participants: 93 from Thailand, 15 from Cambodia and 11 from India.

Among the Thai participants were many government leaders, including chief district officers and heads for social development and human security on the district and provincial levels.

The three-day program also included an Interfaith Peace Blessing ceremony, in which married couples rededicated their marriages.

At the end of the conference, a number of participants, including Dr. Ronnachit Putthala, district chief of Kalasin province in northeast Thailand, shared reflections on their experiences.  “I am so inspired to participate in this [conference] and was so impressed by the content and experience of each lecturer who conveyed Rev. Moon’s vision through their own experiences,” said Dr. Putthala.
